Babies

According to both major political parties their leaders won the big debate last night.

The best quote I heard on the radio this morning (apart from the 'boring' line in today's australian) was our 18 year old political commentator saying he almost fell asleep. And this guy LOVES his politics, especially public speaking.

I love ms fits

Once again dreaming I'm somewhere overseas, writing how Ms Fits (i put a link up on the right hand nav!) does (hilarious, especially now that we have an election on) and being warm warm warm warm. I thought that springtime was pleasant here. Somehow I forgot.

Anyways, I've been busy this week getting back into work from being away. I really had a great time overseas, catching all my besties who have fled this awful country. Everyone was great and I wish I could have stayed longer. I could have stayed much longer because I after I arrived I correctly checked my bank account balance and it looked hardly touched. What was I thinking? Vincent said he wouldn't have come back with a cent. And it's the truth!

So. We have such a horrid country here at the moment that in Jakarta just today there was a bomb outside the Australian Embassy. The news reports are still counting the victims and injured. I can't even imagine how John Howard will use this to his advantage in the polls. But all I do know is that Mark Latham has been in Bundaberg with a room full of whingers all with 'cries for help''cries for help'. At least they liked him there. I'd watch out for that free gift (a bottle of wine) if I were him.

p.s. i've been using the html editor the entire time here and have now tried the compse tab. Pretty neat maybe?

If we were to work overseas I'm studying the kinds of visa and working permits we could get.

Seeing as V-man and I are different ages, I'll have to juggle around what countries we can actually go to.

UK Visas - Information about applying for a working permit in UK.

Working Holiday - this is the one to apply for in UK. Not for V-man though it seems.

Green Card - America - the Green Card Lottery (Sam D is using in New York) & work permits. I think this one - H-1B Work Visa for college educated professionals - is the one for me.

A downloadable book explaining media oreilly.com -- Online Catalog::

The intro reads:

"We freeze some moments in time. Every culture has its frozen
moments, events so important and personal that they transcend
the normal flow of news.
Americans of a certain age, for example, know precisely
where they were and what they were doing when they learned
that President Franklin D. Roosevelt died. Another generation
has absolute clarity of John F. Kennedy’s assassination. And no
one who was older than a baby on September 11, 2001, will
ever forget hearing about, or seeing, airplanes exploding into
skyscrapers."

I'm clearing out my work email (after being away - of course) and there's a whole bunch of links and fun to be had - but just not at work.
