Relocation to the Max

While I've often been known to blog elsewhere about New York City and how my darling and I were going to relocate big time, our destination for relocation has changed!

We are in Sydney instead. A bigger city, still, but no overseas stories to report. Oh well. It's fabulous though! Vman and I have found bigger jobs (the reason for the change) and everything is good so far. I've dropped of the local radio radar for the time being and working nationally is quite sweet really! Daunting at times!

So far I've met Patience from the Grates:

And she's really great, and cute (on the right). I've also met a whole bunch of other people, some nice, some weird (Chopper Read) and more to come as my job continues to be great! It's really great, because I worked so hard where I was before this and feel that this is totally good karma swinging back. So yeah.

House Carers - $50 a year, based just in Melbourne, house owners don't have to pay for advertisments so more on the list!

Happy House Sitters - just signed up - this is my fave so far... a much larger area to choose and $295 payment for two months (the houseminders above is $360 for the areas I like)... hmmmmmmmm

I can post photos!

I really can't believe it, and it might be because I'm the slowest person in the world of blogger, but I can't post photos easily from my computer here at work. Like dur! Maybe I haven't been looking properly, or maybe I've actually had a life and not been blogging. I don't know... anyways, this is photo was sent to me because my darling Vman looks exactly like this gorgeous chappie. Not bad hey?

Don't forget that we are planning a major trip to New York. It will no doubt be very sad to leave our friends and family here in Australia, but Vman and I are definitely keen to bust a move and live there. New York City or Dust is my blog devoted to the adventure.

Recipe for cookie

Here's one of those emails with a recipe in it. I don't know where to put it.

NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES (Recipe may be halved)
2 cups butter
24 oz. chocolate chips
4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. (Bicarb) soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated). (Cadbury chocolate for Australians)
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
Cream the butter and both sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and Bicarb (soda).
Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar, and nuts.
Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at (180) 375 degrees.
The above quantities make 112 cookies.

Country delights

We all laugh about the country and living here. But sometimes things are just a little bit wrong.

A well known festival about some famous Bard is annually held in a nearby town. The sound of a traditional Tudor Banquet with food, wine & entertainment sounded good enough for V & I, and the fact that Crockett would be there (and his lovely family) and we would enjoy ourselves to the max.

But Richard III, watery soup in a shallow bowl and a MEAT PIE was just ridiculous. Vman was so mad I thought he'd punch the table, and I was so mad I just HAD to eat the MEAT PIE to get our $30 a head money's worth. Total Shit. And what's with the AMATEUR theatre company (but they are from melbourne, so they must be unreal) doing totally shit shakespeare (some couldn't even pronounce their lines er er art thou)? Richard the Third is so very bland and boring.

Anyways, we laughed and laughed and laughed and left at half time. Ha Ha.

While Sat. night was so annoying, last night was brilliant, laughing and 'conversations' at K&G's in Briag. K's so funny - and Vman gave him the Cabaret photos he got framed up and K couldn't stop smiling, his eyes were twinkling. Cute!

Little Britain Hater

I have found someone who doesn't find Little Britan funny - well I don't really know the person at all - It's a blogger - and... well... I can't believe it!

Ausculture writes: I don’t get the Little Britain phenomenon, I really don’t. I sat down and watched it one day and literally managed a half-smirk twenty minutes into it - and that’s all. It just strikes me as… oh, what’s the word… shit? Yes, that’s it. Utterly overrated.

And, as I'm going through mixed emotions (as always when I read other people's blogs - I should just stop) - I thought I'd complain about SOMEONE ELSE'S THOUGHTS. Ummmahhh.

I've never really done that before, and as you know I'm no big whinger or big writer and everytime I read other people's blogs I get narky and want to write a lot in mine.

I wonder if working in radio has changed my opinion of text full stop. It's not necessary in my work that much, and when I do have to write something down for a script or for an email I become the procrastinator of the nation.

So, I'm in love with Little Britain and will watch it over and over because I love it so. Another thing: Ausculture's site is sponsored by google ads and there was an ad telling me to go buy Little Britain tickets when they tour the UK.

American Jobs

Am I sick of work already?

Well, I've only been back for 7 days - I suppose that's long enough to be annoyed by particular managers who have been demoted and still earn twice as much as me. (who was complaining about not having enough money to donate to the tsunami appeal.)

So here is a list of websites that have lists of jobs overseas. (because there are NO jobs in Melbourne advertised that are worthy enough)

No War

I want to scream it into the face of everyone at the moment.

Although I don't want to go into details here, those of you who know what happened maybe can understand. My brother has made all his own decisions, and now it seems people have mistook them for my or my family's decisions.

I'm a lovely nice person, and I like it when people are comfortable around me and we are friends.

But I am sick to death of being someone else's sister - who chose to go to war. I'm sick to death of talking about 'old war tales' with people I hardly know. And I'm sick to death of the future of this country, even though the future hasn't even arrived. Sick to death of it.

Without mum and dad being here - I am the family. I am the brave face and the voice and the understanding. And that's why I've been sick, that's why I had a cold sore and couldn't make out with my boyfriend; I have too much responsibility.

It's been good being sick though, being away from work, watching buffy (series 7), watching buffy with the commentary. something i haven't done before!

Anyways, I'm sorry to be a grumpy guts but I just want to yell somewhere that's not in the backyard (grandma will hear), and i don't think i can yell into the phone at the defence force because it's not there fault.

There you go.

Election Day - what a drag

Oh well, at least it's a chance to be part of a democracy - even it's only ONE day every three-four years. Now what I'm hanging for is to see how many Greens get into the Senate - woopee!!!

At the moment I'm reading through Ms Fits blog to check out what she's thinking about the last week of the campaign. Her taxi driver survey seems pretty good - let's see though. It's past six so, you buggers who forgot/too busy/lazy have lost the power completely. Damn Damn Damn. The Herald Sun says "Too Close to Call" and The Age says "Howard for another few years". Damn Damn Damn.

Exciting stuff.

V-man is asleep downstairs and M&D are hanging and cooking. I'm getting hungry and should sit down to watch how Tasmania is voting so far - their polls closed an hour ago. Darling V-man drove down to see me today, worked his arse off at work earlier today. I'm hungover and tried very hard to tell Daniel NOT to vote Nationals when we headed in today to vote - what a funny mix we were - Daniel, Ned and Meals (me of course) - If only one in three people voted coalition things might turn out ok. Damn Damn Damn!!!

Babies

According to both major political parties their leaders won the big debate last night.

The best quote I heard on the radio this morning (apart from the 'boring' line in today's australian) was our 18 year old political commentator saying he almost fell asleep. And this guy LOVES his politics, especially public speaking.

I love ms fits

Once again dreaming I'm somewhere overseas, writing how Ms Fits (i put a link up on the right hand nav!) does (hilarious, especially now that we have an election on) and being warm warm warm warm. I thought that springtime was pleasant here. Somehow I forgot.

Anyways, I've been busy this week getting back into work from being away. I really had a great time overseas, catching all my besties who have fled this awful country. Everyone was great and I wish I could have stayed longer. I could have stayed much longer because I after I arrived I correctly checked my bank account balance and it looked hardly touched. What was I thinking? Vincent said he wouldn't have come back with a cent. And it's the truth!

So. We have such a horrid country here at the moment that in Jakarta just today there was a bomb outside the Australian Embassy. The news reports are still counting the victims and injured. I can't even imagine how John Howard will use this to his advantage in the polls. But all I do know is that Mark Latham has been in Bundaberg with a room full of whingers all with 'cries for help''cries for help'. At least they liked him there. I'd watch out for that free gift (a bottle of wine) if I were him.

p.s. i've been using the html editor the entire time here and have now tried the compse tab. Pretty neat maybe?

If we were to work overseas I'm studying the kinds of visa and working permits we could get.

Seeing as V-man and I are different ages, I'll have to juggle around what countries we can actually go to.

UK Visas - Information about applying for a working permit in UK.

Working Holiday - this is the one to apply for in UK. Not for V-man though it seems.

Green Card - America - the Green Card Lottery (Sam D is using in New York) & work permits. I think this one - H-1B Work Visa for college educated professionals - is the one for me.

In Islington at the moment, writing this from an internet cafe right near claire and trent's house.

http://www.whateverhappenedtocoreyhaim.com/

is a very interesting eye catching poster around here on the underground at the moment and i could write numerous posts about my love for corey haim in my teenage years.

will have more time later - seeing as i'm paying for the hour and i've only got 9 minutes left!!!

and the other new thing i've learnt recently is this online paper: http://www.theonion.com/

it has some great articles - just found out that kirsten dunst has dumped america for a european hunk and george w has got a new look to his oval office:

"Took long enough," Bush said, lounging on one of the two overstuffed green leather couches he'd ordered from Jennifer Convertibles. "Just getting these couches was a chore—they almost didn't fit through the door. Then, arranging them so I could see the plasma TV while I stretched out was a real pain. Every time I thought I'd got them in a good place, I'd look and see I'd blocked out the Presidential Seal on the carpet. I didn't want to do that unless I had to." see the rest here:

A copy of an email i just wrote to v-man.

Hi the keyboard changes without notice to hiragana and katakana so i:m sorry baby, i can:t seem to write how i feel,

When I caught up with the O.S. crew the other night Sally and Phil suggested a few things to bring over that would help them out big time. Phil really likes this kind of hair product, American Crew, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere - Lucky for Victoria Gardens near Vincent's house. There is a big long list of retailers there in case we need it next time.

There are just so many fun places to go in Tokyo - I've just found the Metropolis Visitors Guide to Tokyo and what about this:

"Shibuya Crossing (exit Hachiko)—Every three minutes complete anarchy ensues at the world's busiest intersection. Observe it from the second floor of Starbucks or join the troops."

Sounds crazy.
There's going to be a bunch of memory lanes to go down once I get to England.

I'm already feeling gooshy about it all, and I've just found the OXFORD TUBE and that's made me really happy too.

Have a look at the updated design on the side:

Gorgeous. The many times I caught the Oxford Tube I would have my notebook and write and write and write. I think I'd even made a promise to myself never to travel without a pen and paper (of some sort - as I've learnt that there is a reason to keep those receipts from the ATM) I wrote a bunch of peoms on that bus (peoms was what I called them!), one about bus drivers who look you in the eye, one about Fredrick (was that his name?) who gave me hickies! He was a young Swedish boy, very cute.

I'm getting REALLY excited about going, and I spoke with Sally and Claire tonight about it too!!! Yippee. I so can't wait for both trips, but mostly Tokyo - because I've never been and I just can't wait for cuteness galore.
After Japan, of course, I'm going to London to visit my friends there. I'm so happy about my little trip, although it's not that adventureous really. I've been to all these places (minus tokyo) before. Anways, here is a site for all things London and Islington looks great so far. Vintage shops are along the main street - I like it!

I wonder where the pub is for C and T? They must have a local by now, right? Well, I'm sure I would.
Not long to my trip! Yippee! I opened my travel info et al today and checked my itinerary, and noticed my name was spelt incorrectly - Ameila instead of Amelia - so I then checked the japanese airline tickets and they were wrong too!!! I'll have to talk with the travel woman again because the name now doesn't match my passport - and hopefully I can get the tix changed over before Friday!!! Eep!

So I have to:

  • Call Sally and check about the bus from Narita Airport to Saitama
  • Call Claire and have a little conversation - I'm not sure why I'm going to call her, maybe to goss
  • Buy Amy a 8x10 frame for her photo of Spike and send that to her before Friday
  • Pick my skirts up from the girls at school
  • Take a photocopy of my passport
  • Take out travel insurance with the bank
  • Shift my money over to the better account

All this before Friday. Doesn't look to hard actually. I've spent the past week thinking about what clothes to pack, what handbag to use, what wallet to take, and this week I'll have to actually start doing it!

Friday, August 06, 2004

I've been talking with Vanessa at work (again) and sorting things out for my leave from work.
I'm totally getting excited because today is Friday and now I only have a week left to go. Vanessa says her friend has just arrive back and has a blog of his travels. >>>Gidz guide to: >>> There it is!

And being a little bored I thought I'd look into online computer games. Do you ever get that itching feeling about things you want to google? I feel agitated that I can't remember what I wanted to look up, and I start feeling undernourished or under-real. Like as if because I can't think of something to look up or check up on or explore or discover or smile at, I feel not real. I think that's the equation I'm trying to create here. I don't feel value first off, and then pissed off that I can't think of anything. And thus... >>> Do It Yourself Adventure >>> My sure fire things to look up are online games and free stuff.

I remember the first few months of using the internet in year 12 was to find free stuff. mugs, mouse pads, stickers, key chains. my god it was crappy free stuff. Trent started it and of course I followed eagerly. The search engines were so different then. Yahoo was around, and about five or six other strange names... I wonder if I'll ever remember them... I did have a favourite one. Oh (*sigh*) internet memories.
I think V would really laugh at this, I laughed a lot and I found it care of my favourite blogger. >>> RAMONES NAME GENERATOR >>> . I wonder if you have to be granted permission by the blogger so that they can become your favourite? Or can I just proclaim that she is my favourite blogger without introducing myself?

Confusing, I'm sure. I'm not sure about the lack of paragraphs this setting has created for me, I might log in and change it soon. Work whinge approaching >>> I just can't believe how idiotic my boss is. I wonder how many people around the world can say that? I can't believe some of the things this man does. What is an appropriate name for him? Any ideas anyone? Please leave comments if you can think of a handle. I can't leave any real info about him. I'm too afraid of defamation!!!! Anyways, he's a tosser and that's pretty much all he is.

Anyways, I'd better leave it at that.

Angus is so lovely, he's just emailed me with this link on travel and stuff in Japan. >>>

Zone81.com - Information and Services for Gaijin in Japan, Trains, Food, Webmail, Jobs, Classifieds, Web Design, Web hosting, Sayonara sales, Dictionary and more

I'll have to have a good look at it later, because I'm at work now.

Taking a tour around Tokyo on the net, everything seems quite good - people are saying that it's not as expensive as rumours have it.
Tokyo Review

>>> I've just visited this review of shopping or nice neighbourhoods for a bargain.

And installing blog this! onto mum and dad's computer - how else would i get by? it's getting too late to be blogging, but i just needed to post that link in case i forget the place names. it's going to be pretty hard getting around tokyo... oh well. i'll survive, i'm such a big girl.
So, there was this tennis coach at a private school in the city. he fancied a 14 year old girl, who fell under his charms. until she was 18 years old. she's now come 'out of the woodwork' to charge the man with having an underage affair (not rape?) and she won in court yesterday. he goes to prison for this last night! i saw in the paper that the jury had more women than men in it, but does this matter. 14 years old isn't an adult, she wouldn't haven't had had a clue. I think you tend to think that you know what's going on then, at that age, but if a teacher (someone in authority) takes that relationship further - that's pretty bad.

There was a young woman with this man in the paper too (walking with him last night on the news) and how would that feel like? A man you're walking with has taken guidence and responsiblity and thrown it away and mistreated trust. A man (maybe she was a sister and not a girlfriend?) you know has (ages ago) done that.

hmmm.
Vanessa from work is so fun and she's very helpful. Lucky I called her just now to help out on a story, because her friends have just got back from Tokyo and used this site as a guide before they went>>> superfuture.

yippee. I can't wait to go (less than two weeks to go - more like ten days!) and now i'll be able to check this site out.

Thursday, July 29, 2004

Just lost a really boring post, it was full of lists. Lists I will never read again, Lists I will never really need again.

It went along the lines of... buy Claire some paw paw cream before going overseas and give v-man lots of kisses on the weekend. Typical, and the above was the good part.

I'm still trying to locate my voice in all of this blog. I think because I have such short snippets of writing, bursts of blogging inspiration like every three or four months, I lose my online writing sense of being. I loved it when I was at uni (the good old days) and harped on about whatever stuff... although I've looked (http://honours.blogspot.com/2003_01_12_honours_archive.html) at what i used to write at uni and it's really boring, this is the most interesting page I've ever written. Shito really.

I'm leaving to play spider solitaire some more before I go back to work.

Funny blog from Melbourne...

I've just read the funniest post, and I think it's because I knew about the content. I wonder if you just read other blogs forever without familiarity you'll feel lonely and lost. I read this person's blog and just have to link to it - http://reasonsyouwillhateme.blogspot.com Ms Fits is the person behind the writings, and I've just found out she (perhaps?) is small - well she seems to know a lot about being small anyways.

Har Har, I may write comments to her messages in the future if they are funny again... Go blogger, it feels like spying on other people's lives and I keep forgeting how fun that is. And I also keep forgeting what tone to write my posts in... Do I write as if I am reading it? Do I write to Vincent? Do I write to the unknown reader? Do I really care?

Goodnight, I have to get up for work (don't we all - apart from arts students out there) and it's a bit late for me.
I'm having a msn conversation with this guy chris who i've met online over three years ago. And we maybe talk once a year. He's ok - but very forward. He lives in Sydney, so that's ok then.  He meets people in real life who he meets online, and i've never done that before. I don't really meet that many people online and if I do - i already know them from real life.

Anyways, today i went to work, organised the program before Jo left, i did some online type stuff. came home ate a salad and played the Sims again. i'm not really addicted, i would be in the computer was faster! Anyways, i came back to work and the manager really made me mad for some reason - he's so bad at organising things and today i nicely confronted him about a few things here at there... hmmmmm!

I miss vincent badly, so i'll send him a goodbye ether kiss (not ether as in the liquid - as in 'through the ether') i love you darling boy!

Tuesday, July 27, 2004

I've been looking around at people's blogs recently and I feel so daggy. I'm so not into blogging and I just want to be into blogging. Nevertheless, I'm writing to say I'm going to Japan and UK in less than three weeks! So maybe I'll get all ready to blog then! Yippee!

I've moved back to mum and dads, I've been playing spider solitaire because it's really fun and hard to win. Vincent and I have been really busy and seeing movies. 'Closer' screened at the Cannes Film Festival and premiered in Melbourne this festival as well. It was really good, Vincent was worried about one shot but I'm not worried at all. It was lovely and beautiful.

MOSH!! :: Home - A forum page that i've never been to before. it may be the same one that terri-anne spoke about?

Can't find anything - not even a sausage.
It's a gloomy but warmish Sunday here in Sale.

I've woken hot with Vincent, after quite a restless night for the both of us. His head was busy and I was just too hot under the covers, and wanting to hug him, but getting way too hot for hugs and so my sleep was muggy.

I read over some of Jill's novel again - and she's pretty good at telling a great story. I've heard some of the stories before but her writing style is quite good I guess.

Then Vincent and I watched Buffy - Pangs. Where Xander gets syphillus, and Buffy just wants Thanksgiving to be perfect.

That's only the second time I've watched that ep. because I think when it went live on channel seven I may have missed that ep in particular, but I've seen most of the others before in that box set. Unfortunately the video story sold me the 16:9 instead of the usual 4:3 - and apparently Joss told everyone that the 16:9 is the Warner release and he didn't like it or approve of it.

Anyways, I may have to get the next half of series four soon because I can't wait for: Tara to arrive - I didn't like her much the first time round but having known her a bit better after two or threes years now, I want to see her again. I was waiting for her to be bad the first time round. Just not wanting to trust her - was I siding with Buffy? I was I just waiting for a demon to walk out of her body. New people on Buffy take a while to build up trust with me (and other characters I guess), but how strange that I liked Spike straight away, even though he killed anything, and not someone like Tara.

I also can't wait for us to be over Riley, he's such a nong.

And I can't wait for Vincent to watch that 'Something Blue' episode - maybe we can squeeze it in before we go today - he's at a massage now. hopefully having a good time.

I'm going to search buffy sites now to see what that WD or WP - sticker means.

Hi there - I'm sitting in the lounge room on a really hot sticky day.

I haven't gone swimming yet - but i have my bathers on and we're just all sitting around talking blah blah blah.

We've had the best weekend - well, i have that is. apart from totally missing vincent....

Tuesday, October 21, 2003

Hi there,

I've moved into my new house in town and I'm using Daniel's computer - yay!

I'm actually home sick today (although I'd probably be home at this time anyways) as a few people at work are ill, I caught one of their colds!

I've got Rocky Horror rehearsals tonight, I'll take Ned over this time. It's good so far, a huge bunch of people and lots of smiley faces! It'll be great to put the show on. I'm Janet Weiss, and hopefully we'll do a song that I'm in tonight! Last week was 'Time Warp' and of course Janet doesn't do anything for that!

We'll see!

Anyways, apart from being slightly ill, I'm going along ok. My boss was sick yesterday, so we just mucked around and had fun. I really hope everything works out with this guy, he's kind of weird and although we have heaps of weird people at work, he hasn't really settled well so far. hmmmmm.

Oh well, I'm really going to TRY to write things in my blogs. Maybe the problem is that I've got too many, and too little time to write things in. Maybe also because I dont' really have a blog community to be involved in.

I know Vanessa at work is pretty into blogs, the time she came down she said she was catching up with friends by reading their blogs.... that's pretty cool, but none of my friends blog!

I tried to get Vincent into them, and although he was really excited by it and stuff, he just completely forgot about it when i left him to himself.

Haley came over before to hang out a little and she's going to go to Italy next year for sure!

One quick thing... I think I'll go and change the template (new look) of this blog (can't remember which one this actually uses) later on....

I really really want to start writing here again, because I just can't write in my books - the journal (spiral bound and black) is so just for the tram (which is such a city thing).
Hi there, how long has it been?

So much for being bored in the country, it's been almost the opposite. I see that my last post was in February and I think I was doing a search for DVD's (Calamity Jane) to buy, and that would've been because my brother bought me a dvd player for Christmas...

But I've found that I love buying DVDs but never really sit down and watch them... I like hiring them out (instead of videos) with Vincent and I really like watching all the extra bits (Zoolander was good). But the buying thing... Everytime I walk into JB Hifi (which isn't really often these days - as I'm not in the city and there's so not one here in Sale) I look at the Buffy Collection or the other movies. And I really really really want to have a DVD fund to save up for all the Buffy collection ones, but will I really watch them? Do i have time?

Vincent wants me to eat soup with him now... cute boy.

Atlantic DVD Shop: for checking the price of dvds. take region 4.

Thursday, January 30, 2003

Site Meter is where i can install a traffic reader for this site - i'd like to make it bigger (the site) and better this year - because of all the things that'll be happening. (moving to the country + boredom) so i may need it!
(yeah right i hear myself say later on)

Oooh cheap ways to do things! I absolutely love stuff like this! I'm reading the green guide, listening to Libby Price's Morning Program, doing the brekky breakdown and choosing e-cards for trent at hallmark.com. luckily i'm good at multi-tasking!
yay! tonight I'll finish making the pillow cases for my friends and then drive to melbourne tomorrow - things are outrageously busy - but i think i can handle it! i made a nice skirt the other day for brissie, but i think it may be too hot! so i'll make a shorter one as well! maybe out of the cuter material i bought (blue old school floral!)
yay!

SO! Time to get into personal blogging!

Firstly, I'm still kicking myself that I have finished uni - having completed honours. i was at school for five years - but heaps of years before that even! I've not really had a relax since actually - because my job started pretty much straight away.

I've enjoyed being there full time so far. I'm certainly spending more time with work people - which i didn't really have the chance to properly engage with before. a bit of a shame, because they are really nice. Deb's still away on leave - so it's mostly Peter, Mark and sometimes Gez in the morning - and then all the guys go home and then it's all girls in the afternoon. The best thing was talking with a new media guy called Dave Lane and the Backyard coordinator Rae Allen - they've put me in touch with a few good headstarts! Firstly who does what in Victoria, and then the backfence email list - where you can ask questions and post info for others. i got a great 'clipper' program installed - where every cut and paste you do will automatically re-align itself - for occasionally in 'Wallace' there are lines that scatter etc. this thing neatens them up, and how cute is the name of the program 'clippy' - oh so cute.

This week i've spoken with Vincent quite a bit - the little dear heart. and i spoke with Catherine yesterday, and she's going ok - said that Amy's not quite better yet - so that's a bit bad...

I've started making Granny's skirt for Alice's wedding and i finished the wraps off last night. should be good. now i'm totally sounding like a geek (weddings for gods sake) so i'm off.

I'm now an official full time employee of ABC! I am really nervous and excited!

s p a c e s t a t i o n is in melbourne...and simple and easy to read. i'm interested! and i'm very keen to read more - when i have proper amounts of time...
NO WAR ON IRAQ! • RALLY FOR PEACE!
NO AUSTRALIAN INVOLVEMENT!
1pm Sunday 13 October
State Library
Victorian Peace Network: finally found info about the rally this sunday!
Independent Media Center and here's another indymedia site - international though....!
Melbourne's Indymedia site.... just looking for the peace march info for this Sunday....after seeing the war protests in london and the u.s.a, i'd like to see how ours turns out. i don't want to go to war, and i want everyone (labor govt mostly) to take notice of the 60-70% of aust. population (abc's news stats?) who don't support war...

Adopt your own useless blob!

Oh Boy! I've adopted this thing!
oh, buffy was my last post! i'm tired again, but this time from scrunching up my eyes too much and wiggling my nose - because i'm writing my thesis. it's taking a long time.
oh well, other things are going ok: napier street rocks, it's cute, and getting summer time up there (we went to the fitzroy baths on sunday arvo) so that's lovely.
my cutie vincent is going lovely too. he's working hard at complete post, and getting loads of jobs. he's coming down for this weekend, to take country photos and enjoy some fresh air. i think he and dad are building a futon base.??
the best thing in the whole world is that Morrissey is coming soon, OCT 15, and i bought amy and my tickets on friday. so we're definetly going~!!!!

Wednesday, July 24, 2002

hi there, i'm very tired - because the buffy series final was on last night, and it went for two hours. i loved it, and i was so happy at the end, because after everything that spike endured, he was granted a soul - 'his former self'. hahahaha, amy knew that was going to happen. so i wonder now if he'll be a vamp like angel, or an actual human without superhero powers. like xander. oh well. he's a spunk anyways.
so yeah, since i had work this morning - i'm pretty tired now.
just read through james' blog & and although i'm really happy that i can read it here in the country - he's done so much work. I haven't really done any work.... my problem so far is letting myself be a fool, or feel like a fool, when i'm not really. how can i be clumsy? how can i be a fool? i haven't read stuff & felt compelled to write about it yet.

anyways, grumpiness aside, everything else is fine. Vincent and i are going along really good. we saw battleship potemkin at the astor last sunday. and i just booked my derrida documentary today (as part of the film festival) so that will be great for next week. i'll start working abc tues - thursday from next week onwards, and i'll test the waters after another month. i've been there for a month so far, and whilst today isn't a great indicator (buffy tired) i'm pretty happy there at the moment. in a month i'll be able to see how good i'm going....

i'm off to have a bath, or something. maybe some food? confused and delirous today. good thing that the full moon was this morning - hopefully tonight won't be so bad/.....

Tuesday, June 25, 2002

hi, this is the gushy blog! it's full of gush, and lovely links....

Wednesday, June 19, 2002

i'm in love with work at the moment, it's easy and funny, and really cool. whilst i do really wish i was in melbs, it's all going to turn out fine, i bet, i just bet.
Go to Nonstop Pop! Here's a very fun page with NYC info about indie bands, she is a web designer and like music!

Friday, March 22, 2002

here a copy of an old email vincent sent me:

Quote of the Decade:
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."

Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989

and here is a more recent email:
check out this site;

It is a very odd, yet perfectly Lynch, interview (there's also a couple of other interviews via that site that are worth reading.)

Wednesday, March 13, 2002

oh dear, have just found out through blognews that geocities isn't allowing ftp anymore. i'll have to let deb know, because otherwise i won't be able to update their stratford site. oh well. on the same thread there, here are some short reviews on free webspace Right Here!. so hopefully everything will work out OK! i have loads of study to do for film theory tomorrow, so i'll get away from all the funny websites and search for broader meaning than 'Hello Kitty' at the Sanrio site!

Tuesday, March 12, 2002

hey, i'm listening to Morrissey on the computer - 'your arsenal'. i'm checking my email, paying my mobile bill. Catherine came home earlier with loads of costumes for the film she's working on, and then Dean just came home, riding his bike! (he just asked me if his boyf. Brett had been home... but no! i haven't seen him!) i'm going to look for information on Deleuze's Cinema and why the hell he started writing philosophy about it! it's tricky, but i have some more information to look for. We just got back from Syd. last night. We watched the latest episode of Buffster, before we went to bed (V. C & i) and it was pretty good! Yeah! i have rowing in the morning and then work at the place i've worked at before in port melbourne. should be ok, i'll be able to do some reading, because people will be out of the office..... yeah!

Wednesday, March 06, 2002

Hi there! I'm at the Internet Cafe in Heidelberg (sp?) and looking for actors agencies on the web. no that many are up with it! Here is the one i went and had a little interview with DG Actors Management they are in Prahran, and maybe a little out of my league. but that's not positive is it? i'm a super doopa star! here is the website i built yesterday too Stratford Reunion. it's lovely for the older women who will be the ones looking at it!
Ok, my question for today.... here's the scenario: Often before (mostly after) blogging i look at the blogs which have recently been updated: if i see something i like i MAY consider contacting them (extremely rare possibility, because it would only be if they mentioned Morrissey or Douglas Coupland). But this leads to my question..... if anybody out there clicks on my blog when i update it recently. if someone does now PLEASE email me: emilylloyd@hotmail.com.
Just Curious.

Monday, March 04, 2002

I'm back in Melbs! Yay! I'm in my bedroom, blogging now, and downloading some stuff from my email, because i'm making a web page for the stratford sister cities reunion 2003. their blog is http://stratford2003.blogspot.com
i can't put a link to it as yet, sorry!
but anyways, everything is toddling along fine! I start uni tomorrow and am absolutely wrapped! (not in plastic, mind you vincent)!

Wednesday, February 06, 2002

I'm in Gippsland.
I ate cous cous for lunch, and watched a bit of a spanish film on World Movies. I worked this morning at ABC, and everything was great there.
Since I've been accepted for Honours at RMIT, I've had chats with my managers, and I've applied for unpaid study leave, for at least ten weeks. I'm enrolling tomorrow, and shall hopefully find out all the correct dates. It's all going to work out, how fantastic! My bosses' boss said that he didn't want to lose me (at work), and he didn't want me to miss out on the opportunity of doing my honours. Yay! Pretty cool.
Just requested a song for my friend Haley at the radio station where ALICE works 1242 3TR. Hopefully Haley is listening tonight!

Monday, January 07, 2002

Well, it's the new year again!
Time does go quickly.
I am wrapped up in Lord of the Rings at the moment, and can barely think properly. I'm very teary about everything, and my heart lingers with the darlings all the time!
Silly sausage!

Tuesday, December 25, 2001

Oh! And I've got into honours! YAY!
I'm in Brisbane for Christmas! Merry Christmas!
It's lovely, except I've been swimming in the pool a little too much and am a little sunburnt! I've had a superb day though!
Love, Amelia

Oh, I can't get realplayer to work! Damm

Wednesday, November 07, 2001

Found a great new page. Good for attaining research!!!!
Maybe this will work , I suppose it doesn't really matter, because it's often too scary and distracting from essays (see below). I have gathered all my results from uni, and am no getting my Honours Year (in Media) application together. It's going to be a killer (I hope!). This is the Uni I'm trying to get into for my honours year rmit and I'm hoping all goes well there. I'm loving my place of employment to bits, but am sick of the country style that accompanies it. Actually it's not so bad! ARGH I'm so confused!

Tuesday, November 06, 2001

This can be quite scary when trying to do your essay late at night!
Well, this week it rains again.
But it has been beautiful! The air is like a soggy Christmas Day, and the heat of the weekend has lingered to Tuesday! (today) I went for a spot of Gardening with Mama, but then the rain came a bit too strong to see the weeds! I have been netbanking and emailing at the moment. Not to mention: doing the age crossword which is always great! Oh Well, I'll check my layout (serious changes here at my blog every week!) and then bust a move back to the garden!

Thursday, October 25, 2001

Belle & Sebastian badges are very tempting indeed!
Just updated some of my favourite sites. I love the Jeanette Winterson site, she's very comfortable with using the web, it seems! Cool!
Well, I've been working at the ABC again today down here in Sale. And I'm the most boring-est person on the planet.
I am not enjoying myself, or learning anything, down here. Well, I don't know about it, really. I just keep coming back, and nothing ever changes. I hope that the election will mean more exciting stuff. Like if the candidates down here change, I'll have to get their phone numbers & record them in my contacts book. Yeah.
I'm working at Khok again this weekend, back on track, with no life, no money, no prospects.
Only good smiling friends.
What more does one need?
x

Nice Blues Band!
Have seen them twice now, and really gets me excited about blues music (haven't given it much thought before now) Chris Wilson took me to see them at the Old Bar, in Fitzroy, and it was great.

And here's something that was on April's site.
just thought i'd add these links to sites that Alice sent me!

Find your school friends!

and

Alice found a school friend!

Wednesday, August 29, 2001

Ohhh, the country. The wide screen of mum and dad's computer. Hmmmm.
Anyways, I'm really not too sure about things down here. Firstly, I am depressed about EVERYthing, but mostly my job. I wish that I was learning more about stuff, than the CSAs and the rundown and blardy blar. It's boring. I wish I were king of the whole sham.
Anyways, I've had an awesome jam packed weekend etc. Because of my birthday, and our house party and every thing. That's another reason why I am so depressed, yeah. whatever. I'm a dickhead!

Monday, August 13, 2001

i am in melbourne yeah yeah

Thursday, July 26, 2001

I have a slight sickness (only nasal) and am of course in the country. The only time I ever have to blogg stuff is here, because it's sooooo boring. I am hoping that I won't get bored after a few months, the job is still fun city and totally interesting. Unfortunately Debbie goes on long service leave soon, and then I'll be left to fend for myself, however fortunately, GEORGIA becomes my morning presenter, and therefore we are a team until Deb gets back. I hope so. Because I have a thing for Georgia, but don't tell Vincent. Actually if Georgia is in the job, I shall have to tell Vincent, it's fair. Ohhhh, I have got a big crush on Vincentino! I can't wait to see him tomorrow. Last week, when I saw him at the bar, after not seeing him for a few days I almost had a heart attack he was so spunky!

Wednesday, July 18, 2001

Back again in the country.
The best news: I have great marks for my hypertext theory and practice subject!
The other best news: Vincent is a sweetie pie.
Working tomorrow at ABC, and then zipping back to Melbourne (practising my voice/speech along the way)!

Wednesday, July 04, 2001

Maybe I should give this page to my friends in Melbs, so that they can keep up to date. It just seems a little self-centred, don't you think? That I assume my friends will be getting out of touch with what I am doing. I don't feel the need, and I'm sure they don't even mind too much. !
It was my first day at ABC Gippsland today. Not a lot happened, but it was a good show, I arranged an interview with this woman that Debbie found. Successfully. I suppose. Anyway, I am here for another two days, with not a lot to do, so I'm trying to fill the time up with all the things that I've been meaning to do for ages. Like empty my mail (e), and update my blogs, and watch a hell of a lot of cable. Yeah. It's all good.
